Love Exposure

This is one of my all time favourite films for so many reaons. This film is hard to describe, it's a film that literally has it ALL. Some of the many themes of the film (that melt so well together in this masterpeice film that should be a huge cult classic on "Donnie Darko" scale) are Love, (obviously) sexuality, sin, religon (christinaity), freindships, belonging and cults. And it's by the amazing sion sono.

Yu Honda
Most of these themes make the film seem as it will be all teary eyed confessions of love, and lonley teenagers on the fringe of society praying constantly in their room.

Yu and he's family, with a heavy cross to bear (wink wink)

Whilst their are teary eyed confessions from our lead actor Yu Honda, theirs a twist. Yu who (along with his preist father) is a devout christian, is forced to confess hes non-exsistening sins to his father, after hes fathers lover leaves him and he falls into deppression.

Yu and Yoko on the beach, but life is no picnic
In order to appese his fathrer Yu decides to start comitting real sins. Real sins in the form of  'peek-a-panty' photos. (ninja style with kicks, cameras on string, nunchucks, and remote controlled cars) This is were Yu meets the love of his life Yoko,(In a street fight, anime style ;))but Yu, dressed as a girl, has obstacles thrown at him from every angle. From his father, his lover and Aya Koike from the cult group 'zero church' who takes a very big intrest in the original sinner that is Yu.

Aya Koike
One of the things i love about film is the way they deal with religon, which lets be honest is always a delicate subject. Whilst all some of the christians are crazy. Yu is an honest kind boy who has been lost and confussed, he ends up going through hard times, but although he story and were he ends up he seems always to have the biggest (cutest, most heart melting) smile,(No? Just me then) and always the love of his life, Yoko in his heart.
Practicing the art of 'peek-a-panty' ninja style, with Master Loyd
Epic  Bible quotes, (Pulp fiction style) Street brawls, Samurai swords, blood splatters and beautiful visuals are just a few reasons why you should see this film.
The only thing that may deter some is that it's 4 hours long... BUT honestly i promise you,the time just flies by.
